Hmm, a name for the story, well that's probably a bit hard to really decide if you're in the early stages of it unless you have something solid. Well - I already have my title set in stone, I've had it pretty much since I began writing, so I guess it's really individual.

Something with dreams and butterflies. Is there an underlying tone to the story? If there is, it could somehow be woven into the title. What I came up with just now is Subconscious Butterfly. It's not too long or frilly, and it's enough to be taken seriously. Watch for tones in words. Every word has a positive/negative light/dark effect behind it, and they can make for some awesome effects in the story if you do it right. Butterfly is a positive word balanced out with Subconscious, which is a negative toned word. The simple title of the story can have a massive impact in the overall mood. I myself like that name. Post the name in some forums to see what people's opinions are about it and a few titles you come up with to see how the vast majority views them.

Watch out for some traps. Names like Butterfly Wings or Butterfly Dream are pretty weak for titles. The words are all too positive. They don't send a message. Balance requires light and dark, right? People really do judge books by their covers, so balancing with a positive and a negative word usually makes them stand out, keeping it short and to the point.

By the way, I actually got down to posting the first chapter of my story if you care to take a look. The chapter title is called Bloody Grip, but that's not the story title. I'm taking it down February 24th *maybe*, but I haven't made up my mind if I want to post chapter 2, maybe up to chapter 10 and then take it down after a while. I thought if I expose a little bit of it it could get critiqued to see if I make any sense. There're some weird typos since I use wordpad *caveman typing*. So far I have someone hooked, but few have actually read it. It's quite long, it takes about an hour for someone with average reading speed, but it's action from the beginning.

So yeah, post a few titles in FAC assuming you have an account there.
