I challenged NaNoWriMo this year ... and won.
This is "Skree", main character of my Nanowrimo novel. He's an amorphic creature with a fluid, shapeless body (but not a shapeshifter per sé). He learned how to hold his body together in this quasi-feline shape from his mother, and is of the age where other members in the tribe expect him to seek out a creature of a different species and combine with it, a rite of passage that will mark him as a proper adult.
Unfortunately, he is scared to death of that prospect, and this is one of the central conflicts in the novel.
