This was requested by a friend who is writing a book. These are neither panthers, nor cats, but Atra. The one on the left is the female, the one on the right, the male. I don't know too much about them but they talk more or less, and I'm pretty sure they're good guys.
I have never seriously drawn cats before....and let me say, they are harder than dogs. Their fur is so short it takes forever, I seriously need to find a more efficent and better looking way of drawing it. The wings were icky as well, they aren't supposed to be furry or feathery, but they weren't supposed to look like bat wings either, sadly I didn't really succeed in that.
I am most proud of the background. I have never drawn anything like it so I had to make it up as I went. I used some pictures I took for refrences, espically the sky, and to some degree the rocks. I was about ready to give up on the trees then I had two marvlous ideas. The first was to take the mountains and apply as many filters as I could think of untill it looked right. And it worked. Ok, so that wasn't that great of an idea, more desperation, but my good idea was to take a tree, make my own brush, and make trees in the midground with it!
The waterfall I just kinda made up...it was rather hard to make look realisticish.
Note: I may update this in the near-ish future. I need to talk with the author and make sure I got the details on these guys right, so this will probably change a bit. |
